We're going home!

his first ride in the car seat

asleep in his own bed

he's got to have his left hand up

his first bath

Kev held him and I bathed him
Kev got peed on and I got shot with poop!

After spending our second night in couplet care we got some good news.  We get to go home!
Aidan put on a few grams of weight and was looking good so the doctors decided to let him come home.  He will have to go in for a check up next week but besides that, we're good to go. :)
The doctor did share some kind of scary news with us before our discharge though.  They suspected a heart murmur and did an EKG before we left.  He hated that by the way.  He found his screaming vocals.  He was pissed!  Well, wouldn't you be if you had to lay in your diaper and have someone wave a cold wand across your chest repeatedly?
The doctor verified that there was a heart murmur.  Aidan has two holes in his heart.  One of the holes typically closes as soon as the umbilical cord is cut and it is not uncommon in preemies for this hole to take longer to close.  The second hole is one that should close over time and we will have to see the doctor regularly to check on the progress of it.  The doctor doesn't seem to be too worried about the holes, but it sounds scary to me!  Just when we thought things were progressing we get something new thrown at us!
Oh well, it could always be worse.  If the doctor isn't worried yet, then I have to let it go, say a few prayers,  and trust that it will all work out.
We're home!!!!
Thursday-
Our first night at mom and dad's house was so much easier.  It's nice to have bottles of breast milk ready to go in the fridge and having instant hot water to warm them up in.  At the hospital we had to call the nurse in and wait for the bottle to warm.  Can I tell you how much Aidan hated having to wait??
It was a mellow day with the kid.  We ate, slept, and hung out.  He also got a bath today.  That was fun. :)  He got a little fussy at one point and suddenly decided began to pee.  Kev grabbed him and held him over the sink so pee didn't go everywhere.  Then, he began moving around and shot poop out on my hand!  What a booger!  :)
We're not sure when we will head back to Sacramento.  It somewhat depends on what his doctor and the cardiologist says at his appointment on Wednesday.  For right now, Visalia is home and the grandparents are loving it!
