Our poor little guy

Well, we're back in the hospital again.  Tuesday morning Aidan threw up two of his morning feedings.  I pulled some frozen breast milk from the freezer and he seemed fine with that, so I thought it was what I had eaten the night before.  Then, Wednesday morning he threw up his morning feeding.  He went down for a nap and slept.  Slept for longer than he ever had before and when I tried waking him up he didn't want anything to do with the bottle. He's NEVER done that.  He was quite lethargic too.  Things just didn't seem right so I called the advise nurse.  She suggested giving him a few mls of milk through a syringe so that he didn't get too dehydrated.  I did that but just still felt like he wasn't himself.  I called his doctor and got an appointment thirty minutes later.  When I went to put him in his carseat he then vomited the 2mls of milk and anything else that was in his stomach-all a neon yellow color.  Talk about freaking me out.  He's spewing stuff from his lethargic body of a color that isn't natural.
I then rushed over to the doctor and called Kevin and told him to meet me at the doctor's.  When the doctor saw him he said he was very concerned and wanted him to be seen at UC Davis hospital.  He said he would call the emergency room and tell them that he should be seen immediately because he would most likely be admitted.  After the triage nurse saw him she quickly sent us to the ped's department of the emergency room; they bumped a family with a kid needing rabies shots out of a room and put us in it.  I can say that I have never seen so many doctors and nurses work so hard on a little kid.  I know it's a learning hospital so there were residents and interns, but man, at one time there were six people in the room.
It was kind of stressful because they needed to get an IV in him to battle the dehydration and to do labwork but his veins kept bursting.  Five times and two nurses later they finally got an IV in.  He now has an IV in his head again.
The doctor's determined that he had a hernia in his scrotum.  Because of this hernia part of his intestines had fallen into his scrotum and that was why he was so sick.  This problem would require surgery to seal the hole and if they couldn't push the intestine back into the abdomen then there could be more complications.  Two different doctors then tried to push his intestines back.  After a shot of morphine and some more time, the second doctor did accomplish this. The doctor's were VERY happy about this and Aidan almost immediately began to relax and get back to normal.  He suddenly was more mobile and didn't refuse the pacifier.
The new plan is for him to stay in the hospital Thursday while just on a glucose drip to make sure his abdomen and scrotum's swelling lessen.  They also wanted to get the cardiologist to take a look at him because of his holes in his heart.  Friday he will have surgery to seal the holes between the abdomen and the scrotum; today they found that there were two hernias and that both would have to be repaired.  Poor little guy.  He should be able to go home on Saturday (all preemies have to stay overnight after surgery for monitoring).
The good news is the cardiologist found that one of the holes in his heart has closed!  The other one hasn't and he will see the cardiologist in three months.
That's the news so far.  I will try to keep you posted of new info.  Pray that our little guy's surgery goes well!
